Visit to Leo Laporte’s TWIT Empire
June was another busy month on the road. While in SF we squeezed in a trip 35 minutes north of the Golden Gate bridge to Petaluma, the home of Leo Laporte’s new-media empire. Leo is a technology broadcaster, author and entrepreneur.
After working on MSNBC’s The Site (Emmy award winner) and creating the Screen Savers for TechTV (1998-2004), he currently hosts a national radio show Leo Laporte:The Tech Guy on 100 stations for Premiere Radio Network. Leo started the “This Week in Tech Netcast Network” from the TWIT cottage in Petaluma, CA.

His magic rocks and he’s a just a great human being to know. Jim’s rule #4: The most talented people are always the nicest. He’s a fairly regular guest host on TWIT.
Leo and I worked together at TechTV, a technology Cable Network in San Francisco in the early 2000′s. I was the promo voice of TechTV, working from my home in New York the entire time. Whenever I would actually fly out to the studios, he would be in NY doing Regis and Kelly or ABC. So this was the first time we actually met.

Dawn and I stopped off at the Petaluma, CA Whole Foods store bakery and arrived at the TWIT Cottage with a killer Carrot Cake, which we all dove into. Thank you Leo for being such a gracious host. You deserve all the good things happening to you. Nice to finally meet in person.
