I noticed this shot while watching 1977′s Annie Hall. Specifically I noticed the 4 short buildings in the background of this clip from the 34 year old film. Do they still exist?
From where Woody stands on 2nd Avenue and 68th you would no longer be able to see them because of a large glass facade high-rise now built on this corner. In fact it looks like the corner had been cleared at the time the movie was made in 1977. There seems to be a construction fence around the cleared lot, allowing a view of the “4 sisters” on 67th street. So the question I wanted answered was, Do they still exist? Despite the construction all over this area, these four sisters still stand and look exactly the same as they did in 1977:

Jim, it’s amazing to think that there are still some old buildings like that in midtown Manhattan. It’s equally amazing to think that most of NYC looked like that 100 years ago, with only a few skyscrapers in existence then.
Very cool Jim…
Actually, this is a shot of 67th street and not 65th street.
You are RIGHT Aliza. Thanks for catching that! Correcting it now.
Very cool!
Anytime an old building is saved, I think it’s a miracle. Did you see the American Masters on Woody? awesome!
I saw part one and it rocked. Good reminder to watch part 2 this week, thanks.
