1.4 Billion and counting and every bit amazing. Our pal Mary Bess Dalton showed us around the new Cowboys Stadium. I shot the first one here at the end when we were walking out into the Texas twilight. It was just a perfect evening. The sheer physics of the structure is something you have to hear about at the same time you’re experiencing it, so I won’t tell you about it here. I would ruin it for you. Nor would I begin to do it justice. When you hear the numbers on this new engineering marvel it’s just jaw-dropping.
The scoreboard weighs one million pounds. I thought a lot about that standing under it on the field. When mounted the roof sunk by several inches. This was planned for in construction. This is the famous scoreboard that punters are known to hit. I heard tell of the Titan’s kicker shagging shot after shot into the scoreboard during practice. The crew had to tell him to knock that off.
